In addition, the ETL mark also indicates that the manufacturer's production site meets a certain range of standard requirements, and through learning regular follow-up factory audits to ensure continuous consistency. ETL has been around for more than 100 years. ETL these 3 letters are the abbreviation of Electrical Testing Labs founded by inventor Edison in 1896, ETL stands for innovative, influential, independent and open product testing and rich experience.

ETL certification basic test method
1) Leakage current test: The sample used for leakage current test has not been tested before testing
2) Normal temperature rise: test method: thermocouple: standard requires the use of 24-30AWG thermocouple, (currently used in the laboratory 30AWG)
3) Leakage current test after tidal state: general test conditions: T= 32+/-2°C, RH= 88 ±2%. Duration: 48 hours after completion of the leakage current test Test conditions T=20~30 °C, RH=93+/-3%
4) Withstand voltage test: products without double insulation and grounding product requirements: 1000 V / 1 minute (the target voltage climb time of the equipment is set to 5 seconds, the cut-off current is set to 8.3 mA, and then maintained for 1 minute under the target voltage)

In most parts of the United States, approval of electrical products is mandatory. Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product bearing the ETL mark indicates that the product has met the low requirements of the generally recognized product safety standards in the United States and Canada, and it has been tested to meet the relevant product safety standards; It also means that the production plant agrees to undergo strict periodic inspections to ensure consistent product quality and can be sold to the U.S. and Canadian markets.

ETL certification and ETL certification mark: Then the general ETL certification needs to submit application materials.
At present, there are two ways to obtain ETL certificate, one is through CB test report transfer, or you can apply directly, the required documents are as follows:
1. Application form
2. Copy of CB test certificate (not required for direct application)
3. Copy of CB test report (not required for direct application)
4. Samples
5. Other relevant test results and product data, such as: product manual, photos, component list, etc.
(If transferred through CB report, a difference test is required)

ETL certification is required for products exported to the United States and Canada. The ETL mark indicates that the product has passed the approval test of the US NRTL and or the Canadian SCC. Intertek is one of the few licensing agencies accredited by OSHA and SCC. Our company cooperates with Intertek to act as an agent for ETL certification. The ETL mark recognizes the same effect as the UL or CSA mark and complies with the relevant safety standards. Having the ETL listed mark of a product means that it has met the low requirements of product safety standards.
