Motion control card is based on the PC bus, the use of high-performance microprocessors (such as DSP) and large-scale programmable devices to achieve a plurality of servo motor multi-axis coordinated control of a high-performance stepper / servo motor motion control card, including pulse output, pulse counting, digital input, digital output, D / A output and other functions, it can send out a continuous, high frequency pulse train, by changing the frequency of the pulse to control the speed of the motor, change the number of pulses to control the position of the motor, Its pulse output modes include pulse/direction, pulse/pulse mode. Pulse counting can be used for position feedback from the encoder, providing the exact position of the machine and correcting errors generated during transmission. Digital input/output points can be used for limits, origin switches, etc. Library functions include S-type, T-type acceleration, linear interpolation and arc interpolation, multi-axis linkage functions, etc. Products are widely used in the field of industrial automation control that require precise positioning, fixed length position control systems and PC-based NC control systems. Specifically, the underlying software and hardware to achieve motion control are integrated together, so that it has a variety of speed and position control functions required for servo motor control, which can be easily called through the computer.

The emergence of motion control cards is mainly due to:
(1) In order to meet the requirements of standardization, flexibility and openness of the new CNC system;
(2) In the development and transformation of the automation control system of various industrial equipment (such as packaging machinery, printing machinery, etc.), national defense equipment (such as tracking and positioning systems, etc.), intelligent medical devices and other equipment, a hardware platform for motion control modules is urgently needed;
(3) The wide application of PC in various industrial sites also promotes the provision of corresponding control cards to give full play to the powerful functions of PCs.
Motion control cards usually use professional motion control chips or high-speed DSPs as the motion control core, mostly used to control stepper motors or servo motors. In general, the motion control card and the PC mechanism into a master-slave control structure: the PC host computer interactive interface management and real-time monitoring of the control system and other aspects of the work (such as keyboard and mouse management, system status display, motion trajectory planning, control command transmission, external signal monitoring, etc.); the control card completes all the details of motion control (including pulse and direction signal output, automatic buck and lower speed processing, origin and limit and other signal detection, etc.).
Motion control cards are equipped with an open library for users to develop and construct the required control system under the DOS or Windows system platform. Therefore, this open structure of motion control card can be widely used in various fields of equipment automation in the manufacturing industry.
