On March 2nd, the "3rd CIO Shanghai Forum for High-end Manufacturing", sponsored by WRE Digital and supported by Information and Communication Committee of China Energy Research Society, Shanghai Aeronautical Society, Shanghai Automotive Engineering Society and Shanghai Transportation Research Center, came to a successful conclusion. With the theme of "Integrated Development of digital twinning", the forum focused on the achievements of informatization construction in the manufacturing industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan and the development direction of informatization in the 14th Five-Year Plan. At the same time, the forum's special "Shark Intelligence Award" was also announced. STEP was awarded the honorary title of "Digital Manufacturing Comprehensive Strength Excellence Award" by virtue of its active exploration and achievements in digital manufacturing.

Wu Yuhui, director and general manager of STEP, elaborated the implementation path of STEP's digital strategy as follows: Develop simulation software for industrial robots, establish product model libraries such as STEP robots, controllers and servo systems. Through efficient product design, supply chain collaboration, virtual assembly and commissioning, equipment health management, digital process manufacturing platform, and factory lifecycle technical support, MES is used to break through various systems and build the company's digital ecosystem. To realize the digital docking with customer systems and deepen the application of digital twin technology in manufacturing plants.
At present, STEP is committed to actively using digital twin technology to promote the implementation of intelligent manufacturing. Through the application of 3D laser scanning, the establishment of CAVE laboratory, the use of digital cloud platform and other advanced technologies, STEP from virtual assembly to verify the manufacturability of products, improve the pass rate of first assembly, save research and development time, to production plan optimization, promote lean production, achieve factory capacity improvement and alleviate logistics congestion; From offline programming and virtual debugging, robot equipment coordination can be realized, greatly shortening the debugging cycle of production line and reducing the downtime, to virtual and real linkage of on-site equipment. Through digital twinning technology, physical space layout can be optimized, efficiency can be improved, and resource consumption can be reduced.
The "Shark Intelligence Award" awards are discussed and selected by the judging committee composed of professionals from industry associations, media, consulting companies, conference executive committees and other organizations. After the evaluation and voting, the annual winners list is finally produced and released and recommended to the industry and society through the event platform and media.
