On March 16, entrusted by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Shanghai Economic and Information Development Research Center organized the acceptance meeting of the 2019 Shanghai Industrial strong base special project "Centralized Robot Intelligent Servo Driver" undertaken by Shanghai STEP Robot Co., LTD. The expert group unanimously agreed to the acceptance of Shanghai STEP robot "centralized robot intelligent servo driver" project. The project has completed the content stipulated in the project agreement, achieved the project implementation objectives and assessment indicators, and played an important role in supporting the intelligent process of domestic robots.

Centralized robot intelligent servo system is a multi-axis drive control system which integrates servo drive technology and robot control technology.

Through centralized drive control, the trouble of connection is removed and signal interference is avoided, which can greatly improve the degree of robot integration. By integrating the drive system into the robot base or body, heavy duty cables are saved, costs are reduced, and external interfaces are reduced, improving the reliability of the robot system. Compared with the traditional robot controller and servo driver combination system, it has the advantages of low cost, high integration and high performance.
This project has carried out a comprehensive research on the modular, intelligent and energy-saving technologies of centralized robot intelligent servo drivers. All the technical indicators of the developed centralized robot intelligent servo drivers have reached or exceeded the data of imported brands. Through the research and retrieval of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Consulting Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, The STEP industrial robot integrated technology applied in this project has reached the international advanced level, and promoted the high power density, intelligence and safety level of domestic robot complete machine.

During the construction of the project, a total of 21 patents were applied, including 12 invention patents and 2 papers were published. The realization and mastery of STEP centralized robot intelligent servo driver technology promotes domestic manufacturers to achieve differentiation, reduce costs and compete with foreign brands. At the same time, it can also bring additional effect of increasing market share of domestic robots and other automation products.
The application of the project results has improved the technical level of the robot control system, servo system, software system and other key components, and promoted the vigorous development of the upstream and downstream industrial chain. Based on the excellent performance of the centralized robot intelligent servo driver, the precision and rhythm of the robot body have been greatly improved, so that the application of the robot from simple handling, loading and unloading, to arc welding, spraying, assembly and other high-end applications, laying a solid foundation for the explosive growth of robot applications.
The success of project research and development helps to improve the user's recognition of domestic industrial robots, break the monopoly position of foreign high-performance robots, promote the upgrading of domestic equipment and automation level, and play a positive application demonstration effect.
