In automated production lines, vision systems are often used to automatically position workpieces during robot loading and unloading. By accurately identifying the position of workpieces, unnecessary losses due to mechanical positioning, collision between centering devices and materials, and extrusion are avoided. This simplifies the process complexity of the mechanical positioning of the production line, effectively shortens the positioning time, and improves the efficiency and flexibility of robot loading and unloading.
Adtech can provides a full-process loading and unloading automation solution for mobile phone glass processing. In the screen printing process section, SCARA integrated with AVS vision system can capture mobile phone glass with multiple workpieces at one time and a large field of view. Fast and accurate grasping and placement, thereby improving production efficiency.
Project Overview
The glass cover of the mobile phone plays a protective and beautiful role on the touch screen of the mobile phone. Silk screen printing is a process of processing it, that is, the pattern or LOGO and other information are printed on it, and then the ink needs to be dried in an oven.
In this project, the glass coming out of the oven is conveyed backward by a conveyor belt according to a row of 5 workpieces (about 15.5 inches). During this period, it passes through the Adtech AVS vision system, and the camera takes pictures to locate it. After the workpieces flow to the grasping range , the robot immediately takes the material one by one, and then waits for the PLC's signal to allow the material to be discharged, and finally puts the workpiece in a fixed position.

solution
For the screen-printed mobile phone glass, the vision system uses blob analysis.
A blob in machine vision refers to a connected area in an image with similar color, texture and other features. In short, blob analysis is to perform geometric analysis on a connected area to obtain some important geometric features.
For this project, the conventional positioning method will have missed shots, false shots, etc., but adding blob analysis, through the extraction and screening of multiple key areas of the glass, to improve the visual positioning stability!

Project Benefits
