On December 12, 2022, the Fifth Research Institute of Electronics, commissioned by the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly carried out the "2022 Excellent case selection activity for reliability improvement in manufacturing industry", and the results were released. Shanghai STEP Robotics Co., Ltd. declared the "National Industrial Robot Reliability Improvement Solution" successfully selected. It is the only excellent case related to robot ontology.

The selection of excellent cases of reliability improvement in the national manufacturing industry mainly focuses on the key core products in the key industries such as machinery, electronics and automobiles. A number of excellent projects are collected around reliability engineering technology, reliability management, quality and reliability tools and other solutions, with the purpose of improving the reliability level of the national manufacturing products, helping to improve product quality and enterprise quality and efficiency.

This time, based on the background and existing experience of the acceleration of localization in the robot industry, STEP proposed solutions to improve the reliability of national robots from several dimensions, such as structure, hardware, software, testing and quality assurance. Through the implementation of this project, domestic industrial robots can be improved and enhanced in the reliability of core parts and complete machine, solving the problems of medium and high-end parts relying on imports, low quality reliability of domestic robots and low substitution rate of domestic chips, realizing the localization of medium and high-end core parts products and improving the reliability of national robots. Significantly improve the average trouble-free working time MTBF of industrial robots.

 

This project is also of great promotion significance in the industry. In particular, if the core parts can be replaced locally by upstream parts, it can not only solve the supply chain security problem, but also significantly reduce the application cost of industrial robots, shorten the delivery time, further promote the application of industrial robots and improve the level of intelligent manufacturing.
